How much income is enough for me as a musician?

Take-home you need = living costs + debt payments + saving for emergencies and goals + pension or retirement saving + reinvesting in your music + joy (holidays, hobbies, going out) + giving + (yearly extras / 12). Enough, before tax = take-home you need / (1 - your tax rate). Enough a year = that x 12. Still to go = enough - your total income now (never below 0). How close you are = income now / enough. Beyond the basics = (take-home you need - living costs - debt payments) / take-home you need: the share of enough that is about the future and the good stuff. Enough per hour = enough / (your work hours a week x 52 / 12). You set every figure; there is no outside standard for enough. Formula confirmed by Paul on 17 Oct 2026 (L713).
